Hey friends! It’s time once again to share my current pursuits. Pull up a chair, pour your favorite beverage and read along.

The Silent Patient book coverI’ve been doing a lot of reading lately. The Silent Patient is my third book this month. It was featured in my daily Bookbub email and I was intrigued by the first sentence in the description.

The Silent Patient is a shocking psychological thriller of a woman’s act of violence against her husband—and of the therapist obsessed with uncovering her motive.

I’m a little more than halfway through, and it’s pretty interesting.

Marathon sessions of Chicago PD, NCIS, Criminal Minds and Grey’s Anatomy. I went back to season one of Grey’s. Oh how I miss Christina Yang!

My daughter’s high school graduation! Our daughter graduated with honors last Saturday. Although graduation wasn’t exactly as we imagined, it was still a special day and we were able to celebrate Jalyn with close family and friends. We’re so thankful for our village who have loved, encouraged and supported her along the way. Y’all, our Baby J is Spel-bound!

Proverbs 3 by Todd Dulaney. I can’t get enough of this song! It’s literally been on repeat for the last month. If I could sum up this whole period of unemployment in one song, it would be Proverbs 3.

Starting a new job! My first day is July 6. I’ll share more details at a later date, but just know this is a total God thing. I couldn’t be more excited about this new beginning!

Work clothes. Although my new job is 100% remote (woohoo!), I’ll have daily video conference meetings and will still need to look presentable. Who am I kidding? Even if I would see no one, I’d still dress up. LOL. I recently purchased a few things to freshen up my wardrobe and account for the few (ahem!) pounds I’ve gained. Stay tuned for a post featuring my recent clothing haul from LOFT, Kohls and Banana Republic Factory. Here’s a sneak peek. These camo pants are one of my recent purchases from Kohl’s. I’m thinking my new style will be business on top, party on the bottom. LOL

My new office/studio space! As part of my faith walk, I redecorated my office while I was going through the interview process. I wanted my office to be a comfortable and creative space for me to work, and I think I achieved just that. There are a few more things I want to do to create separation between my office (which is technically our living room) and the dining room.

Yes, that is a Christmas tree in my dining room.

All things planner related. I just stepped up my planner game and purchased a Notiq planner for work. It’s a bit pricey, but definitely worth it to support a Black, woman-owned business. I’ve been watching tons of YouTube videos and pinning inspiration pics on Pinterest. I can’t wait to use it! I love that it’s created by a Black woman. It just may become my all-in-one planner.

Whew! I think that’s about it. Kudos if you made it through this long post. What are you currently pursuing?
